Betty B. Berger

Betty B. Berger age 89 of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton.  Betty was born the daughter of Rudolf & Mathilde (Stebner) Fischer on July 5, 1934, in Landau, Ukraine.  In 1945 Betty moved to Germany, along with her parents & sister & then immigrated to the United States in 1951.  Betty is preceded in death by her parents; sister Victoria Kirkland; son Erich Berger.  Betty is survived by her daughter Monika (Rodger) Weicht; grandchildren Jennifer Berger, Jaime Emmons, Jeremy (Jen) Berger; 5 great grandchildren Tyler, Alex, Taegen, Tristan, & Maylan; daughter in law Leah Berger; cousin Elisabeth Leithauser; nephew Daniel Leithauser; her niece, & several nephews.  Betty loved being a homemaker, cooking & baking authentic German dishes, & taking care of others.  She had many friends & formed lasting relationships with neighbors & coworkers.  She helped countless others doing favors, dog sitting, & being a companion & caregiver.  She enjoyed working in the Seafood department at the Kroger store in Springfield where she was distinguished by her German accent.  Friends & family may call on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 11:30AM -12PM at Rose Hill Burial Park Chapel 4781 S.
