Barbara Susan Fry

Barbara Susan “Bobbie” (Travis) Fry, age 73, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, after a long illness.

Born in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Buell Ray Travis and Betty Maxine Perry, Bobbie lived a life centered around family, creativity, and caring for others. She pursued her passion for helping people by attending Clark State School of Nursing, where she earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a focus on geriatric care.

On May 27, 1967, Bobbie married her lifelong partner, Larry Gene Fry, in Newport, Kentucky. Bobbie had a natural gift for art and expression. She loved to draw and paint, which she often credited to her father who was a painter. She was also an avid reader who found joy in the simple pleasure of a good book. Above all, Bobbie treasured time with her family—whether gathered for celebrations, quiet evenings, or everyday moments, she was happiest surrounded by those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buell and Betty Travis; her brothers, Chuck, Jay, and Ricky Travis; her daughter, Jessica Fry; her husband, Larry Fry; her grandson, Conor Poole; and her nephew, Russell Lininger.

Bobbie’s memory will be cherished by her surviving family: her children, Kimberly (Robert) Morick and Shane Fry; sister, Sharon (Chris) Taylor; grandchildren, Ayden and Maddox Fry; great-granddaughter, Ophelia Poole and Conor’s fiancée, Micaela Howard;  nephew, Clinton Lininger; and many extended family members and friends whose lives she touched both in here in Ohio as well as Kentucky.

Bobbie’s life was a quiet one. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience and devotion to family that will live on in all of our hearts.

Those wishing to pay their final respects, may attend the graveside service to be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 4781 South Charleston Road, Springfield, Ohio.
