Barbara Jean (Finch) Dobbins, 57, of Springfield, Oh, passed away at home in the comfort of her family on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her strong will to live, faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through 3 years of grueling cancer treatments. She loved her life and fought like hell to stay in it.Barbara was born on June 24, 1961 in Sacramento, CA the daughter of Robert and Louise (McCarty) Finch and lived in various locations until she relocated to Springfield with her family at the age of eight (1969). She graduated from Springfield South High School in 1979 and attended Clark State Community College. Barb worked 19 years for the Springfield City Schools in the Early Childhood Development Department and for numerous years at the former Olan Mills facility. She married her high school sweetheart, David Dobbins, and they were married for 40 years. Her life was simple as she loved to vacation on the beach and spend time with family and friends. In addition to David, she is survived by her son Tyler Dobbins; mother, Louise; siblings Debby Finch Williams and Robert (Kelly) Finch II; in-laws Cindy (Jim) Easterday and Dwight (Yvonne) Dobbins, all of Springfield; a half brother Steve (Sandy) Finch of TN; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Robert; half siblings Gregory Finch and Kathy Tangeman. Visitation will be Monday from 5 – 8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Barbara’s life will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM. in the Memorial Home with The Rev. Arby Conn officiating.
