ATHELENE WALTERS
72, of New Carlisle, Ohio was promoted to Glory of God’s third heaven on December 28, 2017 at Hospice of Troy, Ohio. Her peace was in the presence of family (including Marie a doll she clutched in childlike purity of love) who surrounded her with song, prayer and God’s life giving words of comfort. Athelene was the first daughter born to the union of marriage between Millard & Greathel (Coffey) Walters. Athelene was born May 24, 1945 in Hope, Kentucky. Athelene was a unique and special lady with capacity to care for others that guided all those who knew her. Athelene trusted Christ’s resurrecting as payment for her salvation and reconciliation at a very young age. Her desire to sing songs about her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ touched all who ever heard her. She had an amazing recall of what pastors had taught and preached from the bible. Athelene was a second mom for her niece and nephews. Preceding Athelene in absent from the body and present with the Lord were her mother and father and a nephew, Joseph R. Jennings. The circle Athelene left on earth consist of her sister, Merlene (Bill) Jennings and a brother, Daniel C. Walters. Three nephews, Jonathan (Lauren Kimble) Ingram, Gregory (Brandi Rouch) Ingram, Angelena Beth Ingram, all of New Carlisle, Ohio, and Jason Jennings of Huber Heights. A very special and loving caregiver friend for over twelve years, Cheryl Allison, who extended Athelene’s special needs life and comfort beyond the expectations of all the medical professions amazement. Athelene’s fondness of her niece, Chloe Michelle Ingram was a continual reminder of her far reaching love transcending time and distances mankind is bound by. Athelene had many, many cousins, nieces and nephews to numerous to mention. Her love extended to her loving cat Rainbow and the cats of her neighborhood, even squirrels she fed in her backyard so lovingly and caring. Not to be forgotten thetwo loving dogs of Merlene and Bill who loved Athelene’s radiant love. Commendable special thanks to the outstanding integrous selfless efforts of Soin Hospital in Dayton, Ohio and the timely Hospice of Dayton-Ohio Hospice of Miami County Ohio.
