Albert Joseph "Joey" Keller, 34, of Springfield passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2018 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 28, 1984 to Yvonne Blanken and Harry "Buddy" Keller. Joey graduated from Northeastern High School in 2002. After graduating he joined the United States Air Force where he took great pride in his accomplishments. He served his country for 13 years and achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 2016. Joey continued to serve his country as a contractor for the Air Force until his recent passing. In his free time he loved going on adventures and spending time with his wife and children. Joey was an avid fisherman, a corn hole enthusiast, and had some wicked dance moves, too. He was a funny and passionate man who never knew a stranger. Even in his passing Joey helped people. He was an organ donor and through our tragedy he brought hope to several families. If you were lucky enough to know Joey, you got to hear his infectious laugh and impeccable storytelling skills. The most important thing to him was his family. Jessica (Wagner) and Joey were wed on October 12, 2002 in Texas, the day after he graduated from Air Force Basic Training. In the 16 years they have been married they have welcomed their three sons, Sebastian 11, Tristan 9, and Evan 6, who are their pride and joy. They were very excited to recently find out they will be welcoming a new bundle of joy in the spring, Baby Joey. Joey was blessed to be surrounded by people who loved him including his stepfather Troy Holbrook who raised Joey from age 4. Grandparents Linda and Mickey Blanken. Sisters Taylor (Michael) Bury and Paige Holbrook. Brother Corey Keller Sr.; Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Cheryl and Mark Wagner; Brother-in-laws Ronnie and Donnie Callicoat and Josh (Tara) Wagner. Sister- in-laws Crista Wagner and Katie (Jeremy) Rapp. Nieces and nephews Skyler, Gavin, Jett, CJ, Sophia, Evelyn, and a niece and nephew due this winter. He had numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who he loved. Joey also had many close friends who he considered family. He was preceded in death by his father and his paternal grandparents Patricia and Albert Keller. Visitation will be on Saturday August 18th at the Richard, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home from 2 – 5pm with funeral services immediately following. There will be no graveside service, as Joey wanted to be cremated and laid to rest with the love of his life. All of his friends and family are invited to a celebration of Joey’s life following the service at VFW Post 1031 (1237 E. Main St. Springfield, OH). Contributions can be made to the ‘Joey Keller Memorial Fund’ at any Security National Bank branch to help with medical expenses and the care of his children.
